"Making Biscuits," 2026 / 473 Cedar Street / Arlington, GA / 500 sq. ft.
CLIENT REQUESTS: Arlington is a small, predominantly African American town with very little public art. The city's art council wanted to bring some love, pride, and brightness to the city, so they requested a mural that shared the story of family tradition, connection, and memories.
SOLUTION: Stories were shared by locals about their childhood and fond memories growing up in Arlington. Video/photo references were collected from these locals to create a narrative piece about a mother, daughter, aunt, and grandma in the kitchen making biscuits, a common family tradition that the locals recalled. Ingredients are strewn all over the table, and there is laughter and joy in the air as this family shares this core memory together. After the mural was completed, an unveiling was held to celebrate this mural with the city and neighborhood.
